Error: 'Users of video conferencing systems or applications cannot view the content you are sharing'

What types of shares can't be viewed by video devices in a Cisco Webex Video Platform (V1, V2) (formerly CMR) meeting?

What are the sharing limitations in meetings?

Error: 'Users of video conferencing systems or applications cannot view the content you are sharing'

'Telepresence devices cannot display the content being shared'

'Meeting participants using telepresence cannot view the content you are sharing'

Note:

  • Document sharing or whiteboard sharing - If a Webex user shares a document or a whiteboard in a Cisco Webex Video Platform (V1, V2) (formerly CMR) meeting, the document or whiteboard will not be visible to users who have joined from a video conferencing system or application. If the host is attempting this kind of sharing from a desktop application, both the host and video conferencing system or application users will see a warning informing them about this limitation. It is recommended that the host use Application sharing or Screen sharing (formerly called 'Desktop Sharing') instead.

Solution:

Users joined from video endpoints cannot view the following shares in Cisco Webex Video Platform (V1, V2) (formerly CMR) session:

  • Share File (including Video)
  • Whiteboards
  • Annotations
  • Content shared from mobile devices (iPad, Android tablets)

Presenters sharing this type of content will see a warning: 'Users of video conferencing systems or applications cannot view the content you are sharing':

Video device users will see a message stating: 'Telepresence devices cannot display the content being shared'.

All other types of share, including desktop and applications, are supported for viewing by all users.
