Learn how to record a call on your Cisco Wireless Phone 9821. This Help article is for Cisco Wireless Phone 9821 registered to Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Unified CM).

When you are on an active call, you can record the call. You can also record a call while participating in a conference call. You may hear a notification tone during recording. The recording stops when you select Stop record or end the call.

Before you begin

Your administrator enables your phone with the selective call recording functionality.

While on an active call, press More 9821 More button and select Record.

The phone displays the notification message The call is being recorded for about 2 seconds at the top of the screen. It also displays the Recording in progress icon on the call session that is being recorded. Meanwhile, the phone displays the message the icon of recording Call recording on the home screen.

Only the person who starts the recording sees the notification message and icon. The other person in the call may not know the call is being recorded.

(Optional) If you press Hold, the recording pauses. The phone displays the message Recording stopped for about 2 seconds at the top of the screen.

When you press Resume, the recording resumes.

To stop the recording, press More 9821 More button and select Stop record.

The phone displays the message the icon of stop recording Recording stopped for about 2 seconds at the top of the screen.
