Features that were earlier available from the menu bar are now more contextual and distributed across the meeting. In the meeting controls, look under Audio options , Video options , Share content , and More options to find some of the key actions.

The following images show you where to find the features in the new experience. If you're looking for a specific setting, read the table below which maps the old menu paths to the new controls. You can also use keyboard navigation and shortcuts to save time and reduce the number of mouse clicks.

Menu bar reference

Unverified participants

Now, in both the lobby and the Participants panel, you see Unverified next to the name of participants who aren't signed in to Webex. This enhancement lets you easily identify the participants whose identify couldn't be verified by the app.

Audio and video indicators

When participants turn on their video, they're easily visible in the participant videos. So, the video indicators in the participants list aren’t as useful and we've removed them in the Webex Suite meeting platform.

When someone is unmuted, you won't see next to the person's name in the Webex Suite meeting platform. However; when someone is muted, you see next to their name. And, if a participant isn't connected to audio in the meeting, you see next to their name in the participants list in the Webex Suite meeting platform.

In the Webex Suite meeting platform, the participants list doesn't include indicators, such as , to show the way participants are connected to audio.

Contact cards in meetings

During a meeting, you can hover over someone's profile picture in the participants list to see their contact card.

In the meeting and Not in the meeting sections

For scheduled meetings, the participant list has sections called In the meeting and Not in the meeting. These sections let you easily see which participants have already joined the meeting and which people are invited but have yet to join.

The Not in the meeting section doesn't show the following:

• People invited to the meeting who don't have a Webex account.
• People who were invited from within the meeting but haven't yet joined.

Participants who join from multiple devices

The participants list displays a signed-in user once, even if they join from multiple devices. This allows easier management of the user by consolidating their multiple join instances into a single participant.

Participants list options

We've made the options in the participants list more discoverable. If you're looking for a specific option, read the following table, which maps the old right-click menu options to the new controls.

Most people join a meeting unmuted. So, in the new meeting platform, when someone is unmuted, you won't see next to the person's name. However; when someone is muted, you’ll see next to their name. This makes it much easier to scan the participant list to see the people who have muted their audio.

The panels work differently when you're on the new platform.

Instead of opening multiple panels and using valuable screen space, you now open one panel at a time and the others collapse. If you prefer to see them together, you pop out multiple panels.

If you used the Multimedia Viewer panel for closed captioning or live interpretation, show closed captions or use simultaneous interpretation, which allows attendees to hear the presentation in their preferred language.

If you used the Multimedia Viewer panel for your meeting agenda, add your agenda to in-meeting chat.

Anteckningspanelen

The Notes panel isn't available on the Webex Suite meeting platform. Instead, get a written copy of the meeting audio: either get a post-meeting transcript by recording your meeting or download a meeting transcript without recording the meeting.

Get more from your meeting with in-meeting chat and files

Currently, in-meeting chat can’t be downloaded. To save a copy of the in-meeting chat outside of the app, select all the chat during the meeting, and then copy and paste it into a document.

Add files to the meeting so that all participants can easily see all the meeting files in one location. Everyone can download the files you share. Even if someone joins the meeting late, they can access the files. Hosts and cohosts can turn off the ability to add files for everyone, at any stage of the meeting.

Access messages after the meeting ends

After a meeting ends, the meeting conversation is closed but we save the messages with the meeting content. Gå tillbaka till chatten eller dela den med andra. You can reference meeting notes, questions, and action items for follow-up.

If you prefer, your organization can choose not to save the messages with the meeting content.

Send a message to the meeting

If you’re invited to a meeting but haven’t joined it, you can still chat with everyone in the meeting. For example, if you're running late to a meeting, let the participants who already joined know that you'll be there soon.

To open Slido, in the meeting controls, click Apps > Slido.

Move a meeting from one desktop or mobile device to another

Webex App 43.10, 43.11, and 43.12

Follow these steps the first time you join a meeting.

1. Click the Join link in the email invitation or in Webex App.
2. In your browser, in the Open Webex pop-up that appears, check Always allow site_name.webex.com to open links of this type in the associated app and click Open Webex.
3. In Webex App, in the pop-up that appears, check Don’t show this message again.
4. Click Join in browser.
5. In the Webex web app that opens in your browser, enter your display name and email address, and click Next.

   Check Remember me to save the information for subsequent meetings.

6. Choose your audio and video settings before you join the meeting, and then click Join when you're ready to join the meeting.

The next time your join a meeting, you'll only need to do steps 1 and 6.

Webex App 44.1

Follow these steps the first time you join a meeting.

1. Click the Join link in the email invitation or in Webex App.
2. In your browser, in the Open Webex pop-up that appears, check Always allow site_name.webex.com to open links of this type in the associated app and click Open Webex.
3. In the Webex web app that opens in your browser, choose your audio and video settings before you join the meeting, and then click Join when you're ready to join the meeting.

   You don't need to enter your display name or email address.

The next time you join a meeting, you'll only need to do steps 1 and 3.

Webex VDI plug-in

If you have VDI users joining your meetings on the Webex Suite meeting platform, make sure that they have the Webex VDI plug-in.

Meeting options and attendee privileges

When you schedule a meeting on the Webex Suite meeting platform in Webex App, you can set the following meeting options only:

• Prevent all participants from turning on their video
• Turn off chat for all participants
• Prevent all participants, except the presenter, from adding and downloading files

However, when you schedule a meeting from User Hub or your Webex site, you can set the meeting options listed above and the following attendee privileges:

• Turn off content sharing
• Turn off the participants list

We don't support individual participant privileges on the Webex Suite meeting platform.

During a meeting, you can also set the meeting options and attendee privileges listed above and set other options and privileges, such as turn off reactions. For more information, see Webex App | Set meeting options and attendees privileges as a host or cohost.

Temporary File Solution (TFS)

You can't join a meeting on the Webex Suite meeting platform using the TFS meeting client. Instead, join meetings using the web client.

Announce name entry and exit tone

The Announce Name option isn't available on the Webex Suite meeting platform. Instead, play a notification sound when a participant joins or leaves a meeting and edit the display name of participants who join by phone only so they don't show as a call-in user.

Alternatively, hosts can schedule a meeting with ANI/CLI authentication, which allows participants' phone numbers to be identified in the meeting with their identity. Participants must specify a phone number for call-in authentication. For more information, see Use ANI/CLI authentication for audio connection in Webex meetings and events.

Ring in från ett annat program

Access Anywhere phone authentication

On an iPhone, you can't show your front and back camera at the same time during a meeting on the Webex Suite meeting platform. Instead, join the meeting from two mobile devices and share using one or the other camera. Make sure your move meeting preference is set to Always join again.

Invite people and notify host

To start an audio-only meeting, start a scheduled meeting by phone.

The option to prevent attendees from connecting to audio before the meeting start time no longer works. All meetings have audio, including meetings that allow attendees to join before the meeting starts.

Access Anywhere authentication

Access Anywhere phone authentication isn't supported.

Use password authentication for Access Anywhere.

Maximum duration of a meeting

Meetings have a 24-hour time limit.

Video callback to video devices

Joining a meeting by using callback to a SIP video address (for example, <room_video_address>@example.com) isn’t available.

As an alternative, Webex App is able to detect and join meetings using nearby RoomOS-based Cisco video devices after pairing with them. For more information, see Webex App | Connect to a device from the desktop app and mobile app.

There are richer device controls available in a dedicated panel in Webex App. Use the device controls panel to mute or unmute audio, stop or start video, adjust the volume on the device, and control whether to show the participant video on both the app and the device. For more information, see Webex App | Device controls panel.

If you don't have access to a Cisco video device, to join the meeting, enter the meeting video address (for example, 987654321@company.webex.com) on the device's own user interface and call into the meeting.

Apple CarPlay

On the Webex Suite meeting platform, you can't listen to meeting recordings from the CarPlay dashboard. Instead, listen to recordings in the desktop or mobile version of Webex App.

Join webinars on mobile

Mobile users need Webex Meetings app for iOS or Webex Meetings app for Android to join webinars and to join meetings that aren't hosted on the Webex Suite meeting platform. These can’t be joined from Webex App mobile app.

Simultantolkning

Simultaneous interpretation is supported only in scheduled meetings.

Headsetsupport

Webex App only supports integrated headset controls with certificated headset models. Use headsets certified for Webex App to get full headset control functions and experience the best voice and audio quality.

If the headset model you’re using isn't on the list, you may not be able to use all available headset functions both in and out of your meetings.

Higher resolution videos in meetings—Windows and Mac

During a meeting, the app now smartly adjusts the quality of the videos based on your device's screen resolution. It all depends on the capability of your computer and how large the app window is on your screen. Make the app window bigger and enjoy those crisp, clear videos.

Webex App | Change your video layout during a meeting

Whiteboards in end-to-end encrypted meetings—Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Android

You can now share new whiteboards in end-to-end encrypted (E2EE) meetings.

In E2EE meetings, you can't open whiteboards created outside the meeting. This includes private whiteboards, whiteboards shared by others, and whiteboards created in a space. Whiteboards created in E2EE meetings are only available while they're open in the meeting. You can't access them after they're closed.

Take a peek at the list of people who aren't in the meeting and select their names. They get a friendly email reminder that includes a handy link to join the meeting right away.

If you use your Personal Room for the meeting, only invitees from organizations that have Common Identity appear in the list of people who aren’t in the meeting.

Let others know when you step away from the meeting—Windows and Mac

If you need to answer the doorbell or grab a glass of water, now you can give the other participants a heads up. Manually set your status to Stepped away or set the app to automatically switch to Stepped away when you move away from your camera for a while.

When you step away, we mute your microphone, turn off your video, and replace your profile picture with an image of a hot beverage and the text, Stepped away. This lets other participants know you're temporarily away from the meeting.

Allow participants to hear the meeting in their preferred language—Web

These toggles are available at Settings > Calendar and they only hide or show the meetings, you’re not disconnected from your calendars.

If more than one person is training you or helping you to resolve an IT issue, they can now take control of your desktop without each person having to wait for your go-ahead.

A new setting on the share control bar allows you to automatically accept all requests for desktop control. Click More sharing options > Remote control privilege > Automatically accept requests.

Associate a meeting with a space—Windows and Mac

Create a space when you schedule a meeting or add a space when your meeting ends. Everyone invited can share files and collaborate before and after the meeting.

We changed the default panel behavior in the Cisco predefined Session Type "Pro Meeting" with ID = 3—Windows and Mac

Before this release, the panels were set to Open by default. To make the meeting interface more streamlined, we’ve now set the panels to Closed by default.

This is because we’ve changed the default behavior of the panels in the Cisco predefined Session Type "Pro Meeting" with ID = 3. You can think of a Session Type as a meeting template that your Webex administrator uses.

If your organization uses other Session Types or custom Session Types, nothing’s changing there. And the default behavior of all existing custom Session Types doesn’t change either.

Webex has applied Apple universal link technology to Webex join meeting links. Now, when you click a meeting link from your calendar, email, or Webex App, the meeting preview window opens directly. A browser window doesn’t open first so you join the meeting quicker.

Protect your organization's content by adding watermarks to participant videos and shared content—Windows and Mac

Deter participants from leaking meeting information. As a meeting host, have Webex superimpose a watermark image pattern over all the meeting video and shared content. Each participant who views the meeting sees a watermark image pattern with their own email address. If the participant isn’t signed into Webex, the watermark image pattern includes their display name and their email address. Your organization can choose to add the meeting number as part of the watermark.

You pick the opacity of the watermark, so that the image pattern is an effective deterrent but doesn’t cause too much distraction.

When you add visual watermarks, your organization may prevent recording the meeting.

Request to annotate or remote control from the context menu—Windows and Mac

When someone's sharing content, now there’s another way to ask the presenter for permission to annotate the shared content or control their shared screen. Simply right-click on the shared content and click Annotate or Request remote control.

These options are in addition to the Annotate and Request control icons that appear above the shared content.

Upload up to 10 virtual background images—Windows and Mac

Now you can upload up to 10 images to use as virtual backgrounds in your meetings. This is a big step up from the previous limit of three images. So go ahead and choose your favorite images to add some personal flair to your next meeting.

View embedded apps on passive devices

Passive devices are devices with no touch capabilities, such as Room Series devices.

If you join a meeting on a passive device, when a participant opens an app, you now see a screen share of the app session.

Sharing content takes priority over sharing the app. So, if someone shares content, you no longer see the app session.

This feature is available when someone starts a Stage View app from Webex App for Windows or Mac.

When you're on a call with your IT support and they need you to share your screen or give them remote control of your computer, they can request you to join a meeting simultaneously. Your audio remains on the original call, but you can actively participate in the meeting.

Share files with up to 200 pages—Windows and Mac

During a meeting, you can now share files with up to 200 pages. The previous limit of 50 pages is a thing of the past.

If you use an earlier version of Webex App and someone shares a file with more than 50 pages, you'll only be able to see the first 50 pages. We recommend that you update your Webex App to the latest version.

Participants panel now honors the Session Type settings—Windows and Mac

Your organization administrator can customize Session Type settings, which include setting the default behavior of the participants panel. If the participants panel's default behavior is set as Open in the session type, you see the participants panel when you start or join a meeting.

Use Webex smart audio on macOS Sonoma

In macOS Sonoma (macOS 14), Apple added Mic Modes to the main system bar when there’s an active microphone. This feature appears on Mac models from 2018 and later.

Mic Modes take effect before the audio is provided to Webex App and can conflict with your smart audio settings. To ensure the best audio quality, we recommend you use Standard mic mode with Webex App and control your microphone optimizations with our smart audio settings.

If you select a mic mode that lowers the audio quality of the smart audio setting you select, a prompt appears with a link to change the mic mode.

Access chat while you share your screen—Windows and Mac

If you want to chat with participants while you share your screen, now it's convenient. In the floating window, click More meeting controls > Chat to open the chat panel.

Clean mode when sharing content—Windows and Mac

When you share content during a meeting, you can choose Hide Webex controls and panels from More sharing options . This mode hides the share control bar, the floating video window, and the chat and participants panels. Alternatively, you can use the Ctrl+Shift+Q shortcut to switch on or off clean mode, or click Esc to exit clean mode.

Move participants to the lobby from a breakout session—Windows and Mac

If you're the meeting host or cohost and you need to talk privately to some of the participants in a breakout session, temporarily move the other participants to the lobby. Admit them back into the breakout session when ready.

Participants waiting in the lobby can't hear or see any of the shared content or interact with anyone in the main meeting or breakout sessions.

When somebody shares content, you see more information on the type of content. For example, when the content shared is their screen, you see Viewing [presenter name]’s screen or if it’s an application Viewing [presenter name]’s application.

If you prepare a whiteboard before the meeting or previously closed a whiteboard during the meeting, now you can share it in the meeting.

You can schedule a meeting in Webex App for web. The new layout includes basic settings and advanced settings. If your administrator has configured Hybrid Calendar, you can see invitees and their free or busy calendars.

New device pair settings—Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Android

The device pair settings are redesigned to provide greater flexibility, to decide whether to use the microphone to detect and connect to nearby devices based on your individual needs. You can connect to devices using the redesigned Device panel style available when you click Connect to a device.

In some cases, the options are under the control of the administrator.

Webex supports sign language interpretation in meetings—Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Android

Host more inclusive, accessible meetings by including sign language interpretation. When you schedule or during a meeting, select a sign language channel and assign interpreters.

If you’re a meeting participant who’s deaf or hard of hearing, select the sign language channel in the meeting. Then, view the interpreter on the stage or, on desktop, you can pop out the sign language interpreter's video and resize it or move it to another screen.

Interpreters can view the participants who select their sign language channel, either on the stage or, on desktop, in a separate window.

New dedicated device controls panel—Windows and Mac

When you join a meeting connected to a device, the device controls panel lets you mute or unmute the device, start or stop the device video, change the device volume, and select a different video layout for the device.

You can conveniently access the device controls from the floating mini window that appears when you're multitasking.

When someone shares content, it now appears both on the device and in the meeting window.

Show participant videos both in the meeting window and on the device—Windows and Mac

When you join a meeting connected to a device, you can now show participant thumbnail videos on both the device and in the meeting window.

This option, which appears on the new device controls panel, lets you have a clearer view of participants on your desktop.

Claim the host privileges in a meeting with the host key—Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Android

If the meeting host is running late or can’t join a meeting, they can have somebody else take over the host role in the meeting by providing them with the host key.

If someone gives you the host key, enter it after you join the meeting. The host key gives you more privileges than you have as an attendee. For example, you can record the meeting, mute or unmute participants, and end the meeting.

If the original host joins the meeting later, they reclaim the host role from you.

Hear a beep when you mute or unmute yourself—Windows and Mac

The beep provides confirmation that you muted or unmuted yourself. Only you can hear the sound. Not other meeting participants.

Copy and paste text during a remote desktop control session—Windows and Mac

If someone gives you remote access to their computer, now you can copy text from your local computer and paste it into the remote computer. Conversely, you can copy text from the remote computer and paste it into the local computer.

This can help you troubleshoot issues if you’re an IT Support person, and you want to copy commands.

Enhancements to in-app scheduler settings—Windows and Mac

We’ve made some improvements to the wordings for settings available for auto admit. We’ve renamed Auto admit in the advanced settings to Join rules. There are other setting updates to make it clearer who the settings apply to and the corresponding admin settings in Control Hub are also updated. There are no functionality changes.

Enhancements to all day events—iPhone, iPad, and Android

When you have an all-day event, in the Meetings tab you see it in a new All day section at the top. When you have more than one event, on iPhone and iPad, you can drag and move the separator up and down to view more or less all-day events. On Android, you can tap the arrow under All day to expand the view of all day events.

Use picture-in-picture to show your video when you share content—iPhone and iPad

Create a more personal and engaging experience when you share content in a meeting. Turn on picture-in-picture so participants can see your video in a floating window when you share.

If you prefer to hide your video when you share, turn off picture-in-picture.

We've made some improvements to what you see on the Meetings tab. Your latest meeting is on top, this could be an ongoing meeting or one that's about to start. You can still scroll back to see previous meetings or scroll forward to see upcoming meetings.

Share and collaborate on 3D models during a meeting—Android

Showcase your 3D model to a wider audience, such as students, potential customers, investors, or partners. Choose a 3D AR object from your Android phone, Android tablet, Google Drive, or One Drive. As you interact with the model, meeting participants can offer feedback on the design, functionality, and aesthetics.

You can share GL Transmission Format (.glb and .gltf) files. You can't annotate shared 3d models.

Automatically hear the original meeting audio when it’s in your language with simultaneous interpretation—VDI

When the original audio is in the same language as the interpretation channel that you subscribe to, and the interpreter stops speaking in that channel, you automatically hear 100-percent original audio (floor audio) after a few seconds.

Vi är glada över att kunna meddela att vi tillåter medvärdar att spela in ett möte i molnet. Detta gör det enkelt att spela in ett möte om värden inte är tillgänglig eller är upptagen under mötet.

Medvärdar har samma funktioner som värdar. De kan starta, stoppa eller pausa inspelningen. Värden äger fortfarande inspelningen när mötet har avslutats. Inspelningen delas automatiskt med medvärdarna inom organisationen.

Om du föredrar det kan Webex-administratören även tillåta att mötesdeltagare spelar in möten i molnet.

Kör två instanser av din app sida vid sida – iPad

Dra nytta av din iPads förmåga att göra flera saker samtidigt så att du kan fokusera på specifikt mötesinnehåll. Flytta över delat innehåll, mötesdeltagarpanelen eller chattpanelen i ett eget fönster på din iPad-skärm så att du inte missar något. Om du har anslutit en bildskärm till din iPad kan du flytta det andra fönstret till den andra bildskärmen för att ge dig själv mer utrymme att se vad som händer. Du hör bara ljudet när du är värd eller medvärd. Ljudet spelas bara upp en gång var tionde sekund, oavsett hur många användare som har kommit in i lobbyn.

Hör automatiskt mötesljudet i original när det är på ditt språk med simultantolkning – Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad och Android

När originalljudet är på samma språk som tolkkanalen som du prenumererar på, och tolken slutar tala i den kanalen, hör du automatiskt 100 % av originalljudet (talarljud) efter några sekunder.

När tolken börjar tala i den kanalen igen hör du volymbalansen för tolken/originalljudet beroende på vad som är inställt. Du kan ändra inställningen enligt dina preferenser.

Starta en Slido-omröstning under ett möte – iPhone, iPad och Android

Med Slido kan du enkelt interagera med andra deltagare och värden. Öppna Slido från Appar eller Fler alternativ från möteskontrollerna. Som standard är Slido tillgängligt för värdar och medvärdar, som kan aktivera det för deltagare i mötesalternativ.

Flytta mötet till en ny enhet – VDI

Flytta smidigt ett möte från en stationär eller mobil enhet till en annan enhet utan att störa eller frånkoppla från mötet. Om du till exempel pendlar till jobbet och deltar i ett möte från din mobila enhet kan du flytta mötet till din bärbara dator när du kommer fram till kontoret. Om du behöver lämna datorn under ett möte kan du även flytta mötet till din mobila enhet.

Som standard flyttas mötet till den nya enheten och du lämnar mötet på den gamla enheten. Om du vill kan du ändra dina mötesinställningar så att båda enheterna stannar kvar i mötet.

Hämta en mötesavskrift utan att spela in mötet – Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad och Android

Om du vill ha en skriftlig kopia av mötesljudet men inte vill spara ljud och video från mötet kan du hämta en avskrift utan att behöva spela in mötet.

För att kunna hämta en avskrift aktiverar du undertexter. Därefter kan du spara en avskrift när som helst innan mötet avslutas. Webex-administratören måste aktivera funktionen att spara avskrifter.

Vi presenterar en ny upplevelse för att dela filer – Windows och Mac

• Genomför enkelt presentationer där flera presentatörer turas om – Det kan vara tidskrävande att växla mellan presentatörer när ni turas om att presentera innehåll i ett fristående bildspel. Med vår nya funktion Ta kontrollen är det enkelt och smidigt att växla mellan olika presentatörer under en presentation.

• Håll koll på vad som presenteras under ett möte – som deltagare kanske du vill gå tillbaka till en tidigare bild eller läsa i förväg under en presentation. Nu kan du göra det utan att avbryta presentatören. Växla tillbaka till presentatörsvyn när du är färdig.

Om du är värd eller medvärd och inte vill låta någon mötesdeltagare räcka upp handen kan du stänga av funktionen ”Räck upp handen”.

Om du stänger av funktionen ”Räck upp handen” och avmarkerar Tillåt att deltagare slår på ljudet för sig själva kan mötesdeltagare med avstängt ljud inte räcka upp handen för att be att ljudet slås på.

Bjud in valfri användare till ett pågående möte via e-post – Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad och Android

Som värd eller medvärd kan du nu bjuda in Webex-användare utanför din organisation och användare som inte har ett Webex-konto att delta i ett pågående möte.

I mötesfönstret eller deltagarpanelen klickar du på Bjud in personer och anger deras e-postadress. Den inbjudna personen får en e-postinbjudan att delta i mötet.

Dölj videon och kontrollerna när du delar innehåll – Windows och Mac

Om du i ett möte föredrar att endast se innehållet som du delar kan du nu dölja det flytande fönstret som innehåller deltagarnas videor och möteskontrollerna.

I tidigare versioner hade du möjlighet att komprimera fönstret, men nu kan du dölja det helt om du föredrar att inte se det alls.
