When to use Productivity Tools or Webex Scheduler
If you use Microsoft 365, use Webex Scheduler to schedule Webex meetings from Outlook.
If you use on-premises Exchange and require delegate scheduling, continue using Productivity Tools version 45.2.0.63 or later. Webex Scheduler is a web add-in, and Microsoft doesn't support the web add-in capabilities required for delegate scheduling with on-premises Exchange. Productivity Tools version 45.2.0.63 or later remains available for these customers.
Productivity Tools is supported only on Windows. Outlook users on Mac must use Webex Scheduler.
Required version
If automatic updates are enabled for your Webex site, Productivity Tools checks for updates while Microsoft Outlook is open. To check your version:
- In Microsoft Outlook, go to .
- If an update is available, select Update.
- Restart Microsoft Outlook if prompted.
- Select to confirm that the installed version is 45.2.0.63 or higher.
Customers can also compare the installed version with on their Webex site.
If automatic updates are disabled, an IT administrator must regularly deploy a supported package.
Support policy guidelines
- Versions earlier than 45.2.0.63 aren't supported and may no longer function with the Webex service.
- A later security or compatibility enforcement becomes the new minimum supported version.
- Cisco Support may require an upgrade before continuing troubleshooting.
Deployment recommendations
Use Webex Scheduler for new deployments and migrations. Customers that must continue using Productivity Tools should use the latest supported package offered on their Webex site's Downloads page. They should also keep automatic updates enabled or regularly mass-deploy the supported package.
Productivity Tools compatibility with Webex site versions
- We highly recommend that customers update their version of Productivity Tools to the latest version available.
- Productivity Tools have forward compatibility with limited backward compatibility.
