When you have new voicemails on your phone, you can see the following indicators on the phone:

  • The Top 360 LED on the phone lights up in heartbeating red.
  • The voicemail icon or the urgent voicemail icon displays together with a message count.

    For the phone with a single line, the indicators display on the phone home screen.

    For the phone with multiple lines, the indicators display next to the line.

To access your voicemails, do the following:

Before you begin

Your administrator has configured the voicemail account for you and set up your phone to access the voicemail system.

Press Favorite the favorite key.

  • Single line: If only voicemail is configured on the phone, your phone dials the voicemail number directly. In this situation, skip to Step 3.
  • Multiple lines: If only voicemail is configured on the phone, you will see a list in which the message count represents the number of new messages for the related line. In this situation, select a line to dial the voicemail number, and skip to Step 3.

    You can also press the line key on which the voicemail icon (or the urgent voicemail icon) and a message count are displayed, and then press Favorite the favorite key to access the line's voicemails.

If the features voicemail and help desk are configured on the phone, do the following:

  • Singe line: Select Voicemail to dial the voicemail number.
  • Multiple lines: Select Voicemail to access the list that displays the message count for each line, and then select a line to dial the voicemail number.

  • A digit appears on the Recents recents button, which indicates that your phone might have new missed calls, voicemails, or both. The digit represents the total number of new missed calls and voicemails on the phone. To view voicemails from call history, see 8875 for details.

When you have unread voicemails on your phone, you can see the following indicators on the phone:

  • The strip LED on the phone handset lights up if your administrator has configured the handset LED indicator.
  • A digit appears on the Recents button recents button. It appears also when there are new missed calls on the phone.
  • In the Recents list, the voicemail icon or the urgent voicemail icon appears. The digit on the icons show the number of the unread messages.

To access your voicemails, you can either press Messages the Messages key or use the touchscreen by following theses steps:

On the phone home screen, tap Recents recents button to open the Recents list.

The digit on Recents recents button shows the total number of new missed calls and voicemails.

At the header line, the icon next to the current line shows that the phone (including all lines) has new missed calls Missing calls icon at the header of the Recents screen (9871) or voicemails Voicemial icon at the header of the Recents screen on 9871, or both Combined icons of missing calls and voicemail displayed at the header of the Recents screen on 9871.

If your phone has an urgent voicemail, the voicemail icon Voicemial icon at the header of the Recents screen on 9871 will be replaced by the urgent voicemail icon The urgent voicemail icon displayed at the header of the "Recents" screen on Desk Phone 9871.

If your phone has multiple lines and you want to check voicemails on another line, tap the Expand button > (next to All Lines or the current line) to open the Lines list, and then select a line from the list. For example:

This example shows the following information:

  • The phone (All lines) has at least one missed call and one urgent voicemail. A certain line on the phone may have one or more voicemails.
  • The selected line (8979899) has two voicemails in total. At least one of them is an urgent voicemail.
  • The line (8979876) has one or more missed calls and voicemails.

In the Recents list, tap or to access your voicemail box.

  • Single line: Your phone will directly dial out the voicemail number.
  • Multiple lines (Scenario 1): If the All lines are selected from the Lines list, you will enter a screen that displays message count for each line, then you select a line to dial out the voicemail number.
  • Multiple lines (Scenario 2): If a certain line is selected from the Lines list, your phone will directly dial out the voicemail number.
