Help your customers adopt Cisco devices. You can request Cisco devices for your customers to try out and let them experience how those devices make collaboration easier and better.

Overview

As a partner administrator, you can request a Cisco devices trial on behalf of your new existing customers. When you request a devices trial in Partner Hub, Cisco devices are loaned to your customers free of charge until the end of their device trial period.

Prerequisites to start a devices trial

Trial extensions

If your customer wants more time to try out Cisco devices, then you can extend their trial duration if the customer hasn't reached the end of their maximum days to order yet. You can set up the maximum days the customer has to order when you first request a devices trial for them.

Statuses of devices trials

After you request a Cisco devices trial for your customer, a status is shown so you can see the trial progress and if you need to follow up on anything. Those statuses are:

  • Expiring soon—The devices trial has less than 30 days remaining.
  • Devices overdue—The devices trial has expired, but the customer hasn't returned the devices yet. You can either extend the trial (if applicable) or ask the customer to return the devices.
  • Devices returned—The trial has expired and the devices have been returned.

Frequently asked questions

Q. What is the maximum number of allowed devices per trial or customer?

A. You can request up to five Cisco devices per trial or customer.

Q. How long can I extend a trial for?

A. 120 days, but the request must be approved by Cisco.

Q. Who return the devices? And what is the process?

A. Devices can be returned by anyone. Every shipment comes with an orange envelope with the terms and return instructions. This document informs the customer to keep the box, plus the included shipping label.

Q. I'm a new Cisco partner and I want to take advantage of this program. How do I do so?

A. Only Cisco-registered partners can start a devices trial and the partner must have access to Partner Hub. If you have both of these requirements, you can then use the Start Trial wizard to access the devices trial screen.

A. In Partner Hub, click on the trial customer. Under Device Trials, there's a field to provide the tracking ID. Once provided, Cisco will track the progress of the return.
