We are constantly delivering new features and enhancements for the existing features. Keep the camera firmware up to date so that you get the latest features and improvements. For the new features and enhancements in each firmware release, see the release notes:

You can follow any of the methods stated in the following sections to upgrade your camera. We recommend that you use the Cisco Accessory Hub desktop app, which has no dependencies on other apps.

The Cisco Accessory Hub web app enables you to update the camera firmware through your web browser. The web app automatically checks your camera model and current firmware version, and gives you the option to upgrade your camera if there is a newer version available.

Keep the following notes in mind:

  • Visit the Cisco Accessory Hub web app with the latest version of Google Chrome.

  • Keep your camera connected during the upgrade.

Before you begin

Close any other apps that may use your camera.

Connect the camera to your computer.

Go to the Cisco Accessory Hub web app with your web browser.

Click Connect.

Allow the web browser to use the camera if you are prompted. Otherwise, the web browser can't detect the camera.

Select your camera in the prompted device list and click Connect.

Follow the on-screen directions.

When the upgrade completes, click Done.

The Cisco Accessory Hub desktop app checks for updates when you start the app or reconnect your camera. It performs regular update checks when kept open.

When there's an update available, the app reminds you in these ways:

  • A Firmware update window pops up on your computer screen. You can choose to start updating right away or snooze the reminder.
  • On the Accessories tab, the Update firmware button appears in the camera card.
  • An orange dot appears on the Camera info tab.

Keep your camera connected to the computer during the update.

Before you begin

Install the Cisco Accessory Hub desktop app and close any other apps that may use your camera.

On the Cisco Accessory Hub desktop app, choose any of the following options:

  • Click Update on the pop-up reminder.
  • On the Accessories tab, click Update firmware in the camera card.
  • On the Camera info tab, click Start update.

Follow the on-screen directions.

When the update completes, click Done.

You can update your camera on Webex App when you are prompted. If it's not a good time for you to start the update, postpone it by choosing Options > Install later, you'll be prompted again later.

Before you begin

Close any other apps that may use your camera.

Click Install now when prompted to start the upgrade.

Keep your camera connected while the update is in progress.

Click Done from the prompt when the upgrade completes.

The camera restarts after the upgrade completes.

The Cisco Accessory Hub desktop app allows you to manually install a firmware file. This option also supports installing earlier versions.

Keep your camera connected to the computer during the update.

Before you begin

Get the firmware file and save it to your local drive.

You can download the firmware file for your camera from the following links. Login is required for downloading.

Open the Cisco Accessory Hub desktop app.

Go to the Camera info tab and click Select file in the Camera info section.

Navigate to and select the firmware file from your local drive and click Open.

If you select a wrong firmware file, click Remove and select the correct file.

Click Start update.

Click Update when prompted.

When the upgrade completes, click Done.

We constantly strive to improve and enhance the Cisco Desk Camera. The Cisco Accessory Hub Beta feature gives users a chance to test and provide feedback on camera improvements before they are available to the general public. You can switch back to the regular firmware release version at any time. Click Cisco Desk Camera 4K or Cisco Desk Camera 1080p to review the respective firmware release notes.

This option becomes visible only when a Beta firmware is currently available. Keep in mind that beta releases aren't fully tested and may contain open issues that we are working to resolve. We make improvements and apply fixes based on customer feedback.

Open the Cisco Accessory Hub desktop app.

Click your camera on the Accessories tab to open the accessory settings.

Go to the Camera info tab and enable the Beta firmware option under Beta test.

The app automatically prompts you to update your camera to the latest beta version.
