Operating systems and browsers that support Desktop as an application are:

  • Operating systems—Windows 10 and Windows 11, macOS, and ChromeOS

  • Web browsers—Google Chrome and Edge Chromium (MS Edge)

1

In the address bar of your browser, enter the URL provided by your administrator.

You don't need to download any URL as it is a browser-based installation.

2

Sign in to Desktop by providing your email address and password.

Use one of the following options to install Agent Desktop:

  • Method 1: Use the Install icon in the address bar (Recommended for consistent installation): Look for the Install Webex CC Desktop icon (often represented by a computer monitor with a down arrow, or a plus sign) that appears in the address bar of your browser (Google Chrome or Edge Chromium). Click this icon to initiate the installation. This method is consistently available when your browser supports Progressive Web Application (PWA) installation for the Webex Contact Center Desktop.

  • Method 2: Click the Install Application notification: When you first sign in to the Desktop or after clearing your browser cache, a notification message might appear (typically in the top-right corner of your browser window) prompting you to Install Application. Click this link to install.

If this notification is closed or does not appear, please proceed with Method 1 using the address bar icon. Clearing your browser cache may sometimes help re-trigger this notification, but the address bar icon is a more reliable and always-available alternative.

Troubleshooting: If you do not see the Install Webex CC Desktop icon in the address bar or the Install Application notification, consider the following:

  1. Verify browser and OS compatibility: Ensure you are using a supported operating system (Windows 10/11, macOS, ChromeOS) and a supported browser (Google Chrome or Edge Chromium). Note that Firefox is not supported for PWA installation.
  2. Check browser settings: Certain browser configurations, extensions, or enterprise security policies might prevent PWA installation prompts from appearing. If you suspect this, consult your IT administrator.
  3. App already installed: If the application is already installed, the download or install icon will not appear in the address bar. To open the app, use your device’s app launcher or search for "Webex Contact Center Desktop" among your installed applications.
  4. Refresh or re-login: Try refreshing the browser page (F5 or Ctrl+R), or log out and log back into the Webex Contact Center Desktop.
  5. Clear browser cache and cookies: As a last resort, clear your browser's cache and cookies completely, then restart your browser and attempt to log in again. If the issue persists after these steps, contact your Webex Contact Center administrator for further assistance.

When you access the Desktop either from the web browser or as an application, the user experience (UX) remains unchanged, except that the address bar is not part of the application.

4

Click Install.

When installed, Desktop opens in an individual application window as a separate desktop application. You can add the application to your home screen or pin it to your taskbar for easy access.
