Before you begin

Ensure that you've already created a digital certificate as per your organization's security policy.

To generate a digital certificate, see the Salesforce documentation at https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.sfdx_dev.meta/sfdx_dev/sfdx_dev_auth_key_and_cert.htm.

Log in to Salesforce.

Click Setup at the top-right corner of the page.

In the Quick Find box, enter App Manager to get to the Lightning Experience App Manager.

Click New Connected App.

Update the basic information as needed, such as the connected app name and your email address.

Select Enable OAuth Settings.

Enter http://localhost:1717/OauthRedirect as a sample callback URL.

Select Use digital signatures.

Upload the digital (X.509) certificate.

Add appropriate OAuth scopes.

Uncheck the Required Secret for Web Server Flow option.

Click Save.

From the API (Enable OAuth Settings) section, click Copy and save the Consumer Key. The consumer key is required to create the Salesforce Connector on Control Hub.

Click Manage > Edit Policies.

In the OAuth Policies section, select Admin approved users are pre-authorized for Permitted Users, and click OK.

Click Save.

Click Profiles > Manage Profiles.

Select the user profiles that will be used to access the Connected App.
