If you prefer, preassign sign language interpreters when you schedule a meeting.

You can't assign the meeting creator, host, presenter, or cohost to be a sign language interpreter.

1

Invite the sign language interpreters to the meeting and wait for them to join the meeting.

2

Click More options and toggle on Enable sign language interpretation.

3

In the Manage interpretation dialog box:

  1. Select a sign language from the Sign language 1 drop-down list.

  2. Select the sign language interpreter from the Interpreter 1 drop-down list.

  3. Click Add interpreter to add other sign language interpreters to the sign language channel.

4

Click Add new sign language and repeat the previous step for as many sign languages and sign language interpreters as you want to invite.

5

Click Start.

A visual notification appears in the meeting window to let each interpreter know that they now have the role of sign language interpreter in the meeting. The notification is visible only to the sign language interpreter.

What to do next

If you want to stop sign language interpretation, end sign language interpretation in the meeting.
If the sign language interpreter you added to a meeting is no longer available, replace them with another interpreter. Or, if you need more or fewer interpreters in the meeting, add or remove interpreters.
1

If you want to add a sign language interpreter, invite them to the meeting and wait for them to join.

There's another way to open the manage interpretation dialog box. In the participants list, right-click the name of the participant you want to add as an interpreter and click Make interpreter.
3

To add an interpreter, under the sign language channel, click Add interpreter, select an interpreter, and click Apply.

A visual notification appears in the Webex meeting window to let the interpreter know that they have the role of sign language interpreter in the meeting. The notification is visible only to the sign language interpreter.

4

To replace a sign language interpreter, under the sign language channel, locate the interpreter you want to replace, select a different participant from the drop-down list, and click Apply.

5

To remove a sign language interpreter, click Remove this interpreter above the name of the sign language interpreter, and click Apply.

When you remove an interpreter, the participant isn't removed from the meeting. The app removes the interpreter role from the participant.
