Ask questions of your pre-generated reports in Control Hub
list-menuFeedback?
With the Cisco AI Assistant in Control Hub, you can use natural language to ask questions of your pre-generated reports.

The Cisco AI Assistant lets Control Hub administrators ask questions about telemetry collected in generated reports. You can ask questions that help troubleshoot an issue, such as "Show me all meetings for user@example.com yesterday," or questions that help you find insights about adoption of Webex services in your organization, such as "How many users joined meetings using a mobile device last month?"

This feature is currently available in English only.

Based on the question asked, the AI Assistant either automatically picks the right generated report from which to answer the question, or, if there are multiple reports with overlapping data, asks you to choose the right report. This human-in-the-loop approach helps make sure the answer uses the report data that best matches your question.

If the selected report doesn't contain the data needed to answer your question, the AI Assistant asks you to choose a more relevant report. If no generated reports are available, generate the report that contains the data you want to analyze, then ask your question again after the report is ready.

Using the AI Assistant to query your generated reports saves time because you don't have to download a report, manipulate or filter the data in a spreadsheet, build pivot tables, or manually summarize key insights.

Types of report questions you can ask

Ask questions about data that exists in your generated reports. You can use natural language to troubleshoot report telemetry, summarize report data, identify trends, compare values, and create visual insights.

GoalSample questions

Troubleshoot meetings

  • Show me all meetings for user@example.com yesterday.

  • Which of these meetings had issues?

  • What may have caused the issue for the meeting at 10 AM yesterday?

Find adoption trends

  • How many users joined meetings using a mobile device last month?

  • How many users joined meetings using PSTN versus VoIP?

  • What was the median number of meetings users attended last month compared to the same month last year?

Compare report data

  • Compare meeting usage between locations in this report.

  • What are the top 5 countries that users called out to last year?

Analyze devices and resources

  • Which devices had the highest power consumption?

  • Which locations had the highest number of meetings?

Review calling data

  • Give me the incoming and outgoing calls for user@example.com.

  • Summarize the call activity in this report.

Create visual insights

  • Show the number of meetings by location in a bar chart.

  • Create a chart that shows meeting usage by department.

Summarize report data

  • Summarize the key takeaways from this report.

  • What should I pay attention to in this report?

The answers you can see depend on your administrator role and the generated reports that are available to you.

Tips for best results

The AI Assistant works best when your question includes enough context to identify the generated report and report data you want to analyze.

TipWhy it helps

Ask about telemetry in generated reports

The AI Assistant answers from the data available in your generated reports.

Include a time range when possible

A time range helps narrow the report data used for the answer.

Use specific names, email addresses, locations, devices, services, or report fields

Specific details help avoid ambiguity when a report contains similar users, locations, devices, or services.

Start simple, then refine the answer

Begin with a broad question, then ask follow-up questions to troubleshoot, compare values, or change the visualization.

Choose the most relevant report when prompted

If multiple reports contain overlapping data, select the report that best matches the insight you need.

Generate reports before asking report questions

If no generated reports are available, generate the report that contains the data you want to analyze before asking the AI Assistant a question.

Questions that may need more context

Some questions may not return useful results if the requested data isn't included in a generated report, if the selected report can't answer the question, or if the question is too broad. Try to include the report, field, user, location, device, service, or time range that you want to analyze. The following questions are some examples that are too broad:

  • Show me real-time meeting quality for my organization.

  • Why did overall usage change this month?

  • Which service is performing best?

  • Compare every location across all reports.

  • Find users who are likely to stop using Webex.

When possible, ask about data that appears in a generated report or choose the report that contains the data you want the AI Assistant to analyze.

1

Sign in to Control Hub.

2

Under Monitoring, select Reports > Report list.

3

Review the generated reports that are available to you and any suggested insights shown for those reports.

4

Select a generated report and click the stars icon ai-powered indicator to ask a question or see suggested insights for that report.

If no generated reports are available, generate the report that contains the data you want to analyze, then return to the report after it's ready.

5

Click Cisco AI Assistant icon Cisco AI Assistant.

6

Select a suggested insight, or enter a question about the report telemetry in the Cisco AI Assistant box.

For example, ask "Which devices had the highest power consumption?", "How many users joined meetings using a mobile device last month?", or "Show me all meetings for user@example.com yesterday."

7

If you're prompted to choose a report, select the generated report that best matches the data you want to analyze.

If the selected report doesn't contain the data needed to answer your question, choose a more relevant report and ask again.

8

Review the answer, summary, or visualization.

You can ask a follow-up question to troubleshoot the result, compare report values, narrow the answer, or change how the insight is shown.
