Learn how to restart and reset your Cisco Wireless Phone 9821.
Restarting your phone can resolve common issues or ensure that new configurations are applied. This process does not erase your existing settings.
To clear your current configuration, you can restore a Cisco Wireless Phone 9821 to its factory default settings. You may choose to reset all values, or specifically reset only the network or security settings.
Restart the phone from the phone menu

Restart the phone from the phone administration web page (Unified CM)
You can remote restart your phone to its default settings from the phone administration web page only when your phone is registered to Cisco Unified CM.

From the phone administration web page, select Restart. |

Click the Restart button to reboot the phone. |
Restart the phone to the alternate firmware
You can restart the phone to the previous version of the phone firmware. This allows you to temporarily use the previous firmware load.
When the phone next powers on, it will use the new firmware load.

When the LED changes to red, release the Asterisk (*) and Power/End Call keys. The phone boots to the previous firmware version. |
Reset the phone to factory defaults from the phone menu
You can reset the phone to the factory defaults. The phone resets user and network setup settings to their default values and then restarts.

You can reset the phone to factory defaults using the keypad. The phone resets user and network settings to their default values and then restarts.

Press 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 * 0 #. If the LED blinks green, the factory reset is in progress. If the LED blinks red, the factory reset was not accepted. |
