Before turning on the ability for AI Assistant to search external sources, you must set up integrations with third-party applications such as Glean or Amazon Q.

This allows users to search for information in applications outside of Webex from within Ask Me Anything. You can then turn on the internal and external sources you want to search.

Glean

Users can choose to integrate Webex with Glean if it fits their needs. However, once customers' data leaves Webex and moves to a non-Cisco product like Glean, Cisco is no longer responsible for it. The protection and handling of customer data within Glean will follow Glean's own contracts and policies.

1

Sign in to Control Hub.

2

Under Management, select Organization settings.

3

Click the Templates tab.

4

Click Create template, or if you're editing an existing template, select it in the list.

5

In the AI Assistant integrations section, click Set up.

6

Click Glean.

7

Enter the required fields:

  • Glean URL—This is provided when you purchase Glean.
  • Client API token—You must have the Super Admin role in Glean to generate a Client API token, and have the credentials to integrate Cisco and Glean.
8

Check the box in Terms and Conditions if you agree.

9

Click Apply.

A check mark is shown next to completed integrations.
10

Set up your AI Assistant search sources.

After you've set up AI Assistant search sources, if a user wants to use Glean in Webex App, they must have a Glean license. Licenses are assigned by the Glean administrator. The user's email must be the same in Glean and Webex App.

Amazon Q

Set up your AWS console

  1. In the AWS Management console, go to the Services search bar, then search for Amazon Q Business and select it.
  2. Under the Applications section, click Create application to create a new Amazon Q Business application.
  3. On the Create application page, do the following:
    1. Under Application name, enter the new application’s name.
    2. Under User access, select Authenticated access.
    3. Under Access management method, select AWS IAM Identity Center (recommended).
    4. Click Create.
  4. In the Amazon Q Business left menu, under Enhancements, select Data accessors.
  5. Click Add Data Accessor, then select Webex Data Accessor.
  6. Update the Webex data accessor’s name, data sources, and access permissions as needed.
  7. In Authentication Method > External ID, enter the Webex Organization ID.

You can find the Webex Organization ID in Control Hub by going to Account > Organization Profile, copying the organization ID, then going back to the AWS console and pasting the organization ID into the External ID field.

  8. Click Create trusted token issuer and enter a name in the Trusted token issuer name field.
  9. When you're ready, click Add data accessor at the bottom of the AWS console.

The Data accessor configuration details window is shown shortly afterwards, with five fields and their corresponding values. Leave the Data accessor configuration details prompt open – you need these details for the next steps, configuring your connection in Control Hub.
