Modern View

You can use your Webex site in Modern View to access your most commonly used site controls directly from the dashboard. You can easily start Webex Personal Room meetings, join upcoming meetings, events, and training sessions, and schedule new meetings.

In Modern View, the dashboard is the home page. You can return to it at any time by selecting Home on the left navigation bar. Modern View appears by default, but your site administrator may also choose to make Classic View available on your Webex site.

Modern View has regular monthly updates, adding new and existing Webex site capabilities from Classic View to Modern View. This article is updated with the newly available capabilities with each release. For more information, see Cisco Webex Modern View Support Matrix.

If you've used your Facebook, Google, or Microsoft Office 365 account to sign in to your Webex site, it will become the default sign-in method. Site administrators can disable these third-party sign-in features.

From the Personal Room section of your dashboard, you can select Start a Meeting to start a meeting in your Personal Room. For more information, see Start a Cisco Webex Personal Room Meeting in Modern View. Before you start a meeting, you can configure your settings to join meetings in the way that works best for you. For more information, see Choose How You Join Webex Meetings from Modern View.

You can select More ways to join to see other ways to join a meeting in your Personal Room, including how to join by phone or from a video device.

You can select the Copy icon next to your Personal Room name to copy this information to paste it into an email or conversation.

From the Search for meetings and recordings textbox, you can enter the number or Personal Room ID for the meeting, event, training session or room that you want to join. After you enter the meeting, event, or training session number or Personal Room ID in the text box, you can select the button.

You can find the host's Personal Room host ID in the Personal Room link. For example, if the Personal Room link is company.webex.com/meet/jparker, the Personal Room ID is jparker.

You can find the 9-digit meeting number in your email invitation.

In the Recent Personal Rooms list, you can select one of the profile pictures to enter a room you've recently joined.

You can also customize your Recent Personal Rooms list by pinning the most important Personal Rooms to your list. To pin a Personal Room, place your mouse over the profile picture that you want to pin in place, and select the pin icon that appears over the profile picture. The pin icon changes to solid orange after clicking it.

If you're joining a meeting that you weren't invited to but have the meeting information for, you'll need to enter the meeting password before you can join.

After joining the meeting, the meeting details should open in the Meetings page of your Webex site. For additional ways to join a meeting, see Join a Cisco Webex Meeting.

From the Personal Room section of your dashboard, you can start or schedule a meeting.

Selecting Start a Meeting will start a meeting in your Personal Room right now. Choose how you want to access the meeting by mousing over the dropdown arrow and selecting Use desktop app or Use web app.

Select Schedule to go to the scheduling page and enter your meeting and attendee information. Then, select the date, time, and duration of your meeting.

At the bottom of the page, select Start to start your meeting right away or Schedule to schedule your meeting for later. For more information, see Schedule a Cisco Webex Meeting in Modern View.

You can access your recordings by selecting Recordings from the left navigation bar. On the My Recorded Meetings page, you can see all the recordings for Webex meetings, events, and training sessions that you've hosted or were shared with you.

Once the meeting ends, you will see a Generating status next to the recordings being processed.

For each recording, the following information is provided: the name, security settings, the date and time of the recording, the duration, its file size, and the format of the file.

My Recorded Meetings

From the My Recorded Meetings page, you can:

You can enable transcripts for recordings by going to Preferences > Recordings and clicking the Recording transcripts check box.

If you're using Classic View, you can enable transcripts at My Webex > Preferences > Recording.

You can edit your preferences by selecting Preferences from the left navigation bar. There are five tabs on the Preferences page: General, My Personal Room, Audio and Video, Scheduling, and Recording.

In the General tab, you can edit your time zone, language, region, and linked accounts.

You can view the Personal Room meetings, even if the meeting was scheduled from third-party calendars. The Personal Room meetings appear on the Webex web portal, the same way as scheduled Webex meetings when they are scheduled from Google Calendar, Cisco Webex Meetings Scheduler, or from Cisco Webex Productivity Tools with the Cisco Meetings Desktop app.

The language that is used in the callback prompts is based on your Webex language settings. For more information, see Set General Preferences in Modern View in Cisco Webex Meetings.

In the My Personal Room tab, you can edit your Personal Room name, view your Personal Room link, edit your Host PIN, choose to automatically lock your Personal Room, allow others to host meetings in your Personal Room, and choose your notification settings. For more information, see Set Personal Room Preferences in Modern View in Cisco Webex Meetings.

For WBS33.8 and later users on Cisco Webex video platform version 1.0: If you set your meeting to automatically lock 0 minutes after the meeting starts, we recommend that you start your meeting from the Webex Meetings app and not from a video device. If you start your meeting from a video device, you can't unlock the meeting and admit participants. To find out which versions you’re using, see Find Your Cisco Webex Meetings Version Number.

In the Audio and Video tab, you can edit the settings for your audio connection type and entry and exit tone, edit your Call Me numbers, select whether you want to display a toll-free number and a global call-in number to attendees, and add details for your video systems. For more information, see Set Audio and Video Preferences in Modern View in Cisco Webex Meetings.

In the Scheduling tab, you can allow recordings to be shared automatically and allow other hosts to schedule meetings on your behalf. All settings except Meeting type and Scheduling permission apply only to meetings scheduled in Modern View. For more information, see Set Scheduling Preferences in Modern View in Cisco Webex Meetings.

In the Recording tab, you can create transcripts automatically for your new MP4 recordings and select the screen layout for new MP4 recordings. For more information, see Set Recording Preferences in Modern View in Cisco Webex Meetings.

As a meeting host, you can see a weekly summary of your meetings from the Insights section of your dashboard. If you want to see a meeting report that covers more time, and has more detail, then you can select View more in the lower left corner of the tile.

You can also select Insights on the left navigation bar to go the Insights page.

On the Insights page, you can see how many meetings you hosted, your total meeting minutes, your average number of attendees per meeting, and more.

Hosts can select View more in the upper-right corner of the Insights page to access reports that have to do with usage, recording information, attendance, and registration.

For more information, see View Your Webex Meetings Insights in Modern View.

You can select Support on the left navigation bar to go to the Webex Help Center. There you can search for help articles, look at release notes, watch tutorials, and contact a support representative.

Customized support and contact information may appear for Cisco Webex Control Hub-managed sites or for Cisco Webex Site Administration-managed sites that are linked to Control Hub. Contact your site administrator to find out where your site is managed.

Modern View is available for WBS33 Webex sites and later. If your site administrator makes Classic View available on your site, you can select the Classic View link near your name in the upper-right corner.

This page changes with each release to reflect the changes being made to Modern View. For more information, see Cisco Webex Modern View Support Matrix. The following are the known limitations for Modern View:

Audio and Video Preferences

If you select the audio connection type, Other teleconference service (in Preferences > Audio and Video), the setting won't apply to Webex Personal Room meetings if Webex Personal Conference is selected as the default Meeting type in Preferences > Scheduling.

Planned Updates

These are the limitations and features that will be updated.

  • Preferences – Setting changes made in the Audio and Video tab and the Scheduling tab apply only to meetings scheduled in Modern View. In later releases, your setting changes will reflect in Classic View.

No Planned Updates

These are the limitations and features that won't be updated.

  • Customer types– Meetings Server and Cisco Unified MeetingPlace sites.

  • Insight–FedRAMP-authorized Webex Meetings sites don't support meeting insights, this includes the Weekly Meeting Report tile, and the Insight page.
