You can configure the E911 location service on Cisco Wireless Phone 9821 to have an active location URI for emergency calls. The location of the phone can contain the street address, building number, floor number, room number, and other office location information. When you dial an emergency number, the emergency responder receives the phone location and a call-back number. If an emergency call disconnects, the emergency service uses the call-back number to reconnect to the caller.
Before you begin
Obtain an E911 location URL and a company ID for the phone from your emergency calling service provider (for example, Redsky admin).
