How do I send a problem report in the Webex Meetings app for Android?
Webex Meetings for Android includes a logging utility to gather troubleshooting information from the app.
To help in troubleshooting the Webex Meetings app allow users to have an advanced option to enable logging to the SD card, so the logs can be extracted for advanced troubleshooting.
To send a problem report from your Android device manually:
- Tap on the menu icon in the upper-right corner.
The 'Settings' menu appears.
- Tap Settings.
- Click on Help.
Copied successfully message should pop up once the logs are copied.
The logs will be saved in device directory /sdcard/Webex/, the logs will be in .WBT format. Email the logs to support agent with the following information:
- Note the exact time you captured the logs.
- Provide details on what you were doing when the error occurred, along with the steps to reproduce the problem.
- Meeting Number, meeting topic, etc.
- Error number, if any.
To send a problem report from your Android device manually:
- Tap on the menu icon in the upper-right corner.
The 'Settings' menu appears.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Help.
- Tap Report problem.
- Select the email application or click on the default email app.
- An email message draft appears, with the To address pre-populated. Enter a detailed description of the issue, including steps to reproduce the problem and exact time the problem occurred.
- To send the logs tap Send button.
Note:
- Starting with the Cisco Webex Meetings v9.12 the Report problem file will be in a .ZIP format, which simplifies the problem reporting for end users and reduces network transfer data.
- Starting with Cisco Webex Meetings v9.1 while sending logs to Technical Support the app pre - populates the email address. The previous version of Cisco Webex Meetings app didn't pre-populated the email addresses and users had to type the information manually.
- Third-party application now sends log information, and it auto populates the error logs.
To send a problem report while experiencing technical issues within the app:
- If an application error is caught, an error dialog will be shown. Tap the Report button to send the log to the server:
