    list-menuFeedback?

How do I troubleshoot Webex meeting Recording (.WRF) corrupted file issue?

Why does the Webex local record (.WRF) file appear as .webex instead of (.WRF)?

The local meeting Recording is not replaying the file.

How do I convert .webex to .mp4 file?

How do I reconvert a corrupted (.wrf) file?

How do I troubleshoot a webex .mp4 corrupted recording file?

    Solution:

    OS: Windows 10

Note: If your computer encountered an issue while recording a Webex meeting onto your pc, you might end up with a (.webex) file instead of your webex recording.  See an example below:

Note: Sometimes, due to the severity of the corrupted file, the recording might not be recoverable using these steps.

    Method 1

To fix the issue, try the following:
    1. Save the recording file with .webex format into a new folder.
    2. Start a new Webex session, start a local recording, and save the recording file in the same folder. See an example below:
    User-added image
    1. Stop the recording after a minute, and Do Not end the meeting.
    2. Delete the newly created test.webex file and rename the corrupted abc.webex file to test.webex.
    3. Now end the meeting, and the Webex software will convert the file to a .mp4.
Note: Sometimes, due to the severity of the corrupted file, the recording might not be recoverable using these steps.

    Method 2

    1. Start a new WebEx meeting on PC.
    2. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del on your keyboard, then select Task Manager.
    3. Select WebEx program: atmgr.exe, > Select 'open file location' > copy the path.
    4. Enter the 'win' and 'R' keys simultaneously, > Enter cmd.
The Windows console will pop up.

    1. Type 'cd'  and then type the path of the recording in local windows PC.
    2. Create a text file named "lrcvt_debug.ini" under the path where you copied, and then enter the following content in the text file and save it.  [LocalRecordingConvert]  Is_Convert_ASAP=1  Is_Keep_Temp_File=1  Is_Ignore_Meeting_PID=1.
    3. Enter the following information in the Windows console: CiscoWebexConverter.exe /force "the path where the webex file belongs to \file name" > hit enter.
    4. The system will automatically run the CiscoWebexConverter.exe program to convert the .webex to a .mp4 file.
Note: Sometimes, due to the severity of the corrupted file, the recording might not be recoverable using these steps.
