Check Connectivity and Audio Settings
If you can't pair your Webex App for Windows app with a Webex Board or room or desk device, you can check to make sure that everything is set up right:
1 |
Make sure that connectivity is turned on in your app. To access your audio settings, see Stop Automatically Connecting to a Cisco Webex Room or Desk Device or a Cisco Webex Board. |
2 |
Make sure that your microphone is turned on. This allows your device to detect and record the ultrasound which your board or device uses to discover other devices. |
3 |
For Windows 7, install new audio drivers. For more information, see How Do I Troubleshoot Audio Driver Failures for Webex Proximity in Windows?. Or for Windows 10, disable your audio enhancements. This ensures that there is no interference with the ultrasound that your board or device uses to discover other devices. See Disable Audio Enhancements. |
Disable Audio Enhancements
Ensure that there is no interference with the ultrasound that the Webex room and desk devices and Webex Boards use to pair with other devices.
1 |
In your Windows taskbar search, type Sound. |
2 |
Choose Sound Control Panel. |
3 |
In the Sound dialog box, under the Recording tab, right-click Microphone Array – Default Device and select Properties. |
4 |
In the Microphone Array Properties dialog box, go to the Enhancements tab, and check the check box Disable all sound effects. |
5 |
If this method fails, you can completely turn off your Audio Enhancements in Windows 10. Go back to the Sound Control Panel. Now on the Playback tab, right click on your default device and select Properties. Go to the Enhancements tab and check the check box Disable all enhancements. Make these changes for each default device if you have several and try playing audio again. |
6 |
When you are finished, restart your Webex App app. |
