Disable delayed claim for your organization
Starting on January 14th, delayed claim users can't transfer old Webex conversations to their new accounts from their free trials. The Delayed claim option was initially created to help businesses manage pre-existing Webex users within their organization. It allowed users to either keep using their personal account and data or transfer their data to a new organization. However, this option cannot be supported when data is moving between clusters. To minimize confusion and errors, we will be removing the delay claim feature from Webex. If they haven't already, we suggest alerting all claimed users to migrate their Webex conversations.
By default, newly claimed Webex users have 14 days to choose one of the following options:
-
Change the email address associated with the old account.
-
Transfer Webex conversations from the old account to the new account.
-
Delete the old account and its contents.
Webex conversations are automatically migrated to the new account when a claimed user doesn't act within 14 days.
Organizations provisioned in PROD-EU (EMEA) or US-B don't have the option to allow content migration for Consumer users.
When claims aren't delayed, users are claimed immediately, bringing them into the organization right away. The next time the user signs into their account they will instead have to choose one of the following options:
-
Change the email address associated with the old account.
-
Delete the old account and its contents.
The Delete the old account and contents option isn’t available for users who signed up for paid Webex Services accounts.
