ISSUE
Users may encounter an error message stating, "Your Webex service site cannot be accessed. Please check the URL and network connection" when attempting to use the Outlook integration for Webex services.

RESOLUTION
Follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

  1.  Try accessing your company's Webex site directly (e.g., https://SITENAME.webex.com) through a web browser.
    • If you cannot access the site directly but can visit other external websites (for example, http://www.google.com, Contact Technical Support for Webex Issues for assistance.
  2. Ensure your network and/or proxy server settings allow Webex traffic.
    • How Do I Allow Webex Meetings Traffic on My Network?
  3. Temporarily disable any security software and try scheduling a meeting. If successful, add an exception for Webex in your security software.
  4. Outlook Plugin Configuration
    1. In Outlook, click the Webex or Schedule Meeting menu from the Outlook Integration toolbar, then select Account Settings.
    2. Verify the Webex site address is correct (format: SITENAME.webex.com) without "www" at the beginning and with the 'https://' prefix.
    3. Click OK.
  5. Java Update
    1. Visit Java's official website and download the latest version of Java.
    2. Install the downloaded file.
    3. Restart your web browser for the changes to take effect.
  6. Reinstall Webex Tools
    1. Uninstall Productivity Tools or the Cisco Webex Desktop App | Uninstall the Cisco Webex Meetings Desktop App
    2. Uninstall WebEx Productivity Tool
    3. Reinstall or install the latest version of the Webex Desktop App | Install and Set Up the Webex Desktop App for Windows
If you have followed these steps and cannot resolve the issue, please contact Webex Technical Support for further assistance by referring to Contact Technical Support for Webex Issues.

Remember to check with your company's IT department or internet service provider if you cannot access external websites, as this may indicate a broader network connectivity issue.

CAUSE
This error typically occurs when the Outlook Integration cannot connect with the Webex site (e.g., SITENAME.webex.com). Possible causes include:
  • Network connectivity issues.
  • Configuration errors in Outlook integration.
  • Webex Desktop App Plug-In failure.
