Webex Meetings PSTN audio prompts
PSTN audio users can hear audio prompts in their local language. Learn about the call-in and call-back behavior for the audio prompts used in Webex Meetings services.
Local language prompts are available for select countries regardless of the localization language used on your Webex site.
For information on a specific country or to change a default language, please contact the Cisco support. For help, see How Do I Get Help with Webex?
Call-in behavior
When users Call-In to the Webex audio conference, Webex presents the caller with up to three language options for the Webex prompt menu. The prompt that is played is determined by the dialed number/DNIS.
The menu sequence is played in the following order:
1 |
Spoken in default language: "Welcome to Webex, to continue in <default>, press 1 followed by #,"
2 |
Spoken in 1st alternate choice language: “for <1st alternate choice>, press 2 followed by #,"
3 |
Spoken in 2nd alternate choice language: “for <2nd alternate choice>, press 3 followed by #," After the user chooses an option, the remaining prompt sequence is conducted in the language they select. If first and/or second alternate choices are not configured, then the sequence above will not be played and the main Webex audio prompt will be played directly in the default language. The call-in behavior does not apply to Cloud Connected Audio (CCA) customers.
* If not specified above:
In-meeting prompts
During a meeting, announcements will play at the following times:
The prompt played is determined by the dialed number (DNIS). See the Country and Default columns in the table above for the audio prompt languages. For example, for Australia, you will hear announcements in UK English. |
Call-back behavior
There is no interactive language menu for users who join a Webex audio conference via call-back. The Webex audio prompt is played in the local language determined by the country code of the call-back country, and then may be played in another language.
The menu is played as follows, and is spoken in the callback language as determined by the country code destination of the call-back country: "Welcome to Webex," (if applicable) "press 1 be connected your meeting”….etc.*
