Shared PDF Presentation Appears Black and White

The shared PDF presentation, whether in Adobe Acrobat or other formats, displays in black and white instead of color during presentation sharing. This issue is consistent across various instances of shared PDFs, causing them to appear in grayscale rather than their original color format. This applies to Windows 10 and later.

Steps to troubleshoot PDF presentation appearing in black and white in Webex:

Check the WebEx Document Loader settings.
  1. Open the PDF file in Acrobat Reader or your default PDF application.
  2. Click File > Print.
  3. Select WebEx Document Loader as the printer.
  4. Ensure that Print in grayscale (black and white) is not checked.
  5. Click Print.
  6. Try sharing the file again in Webex.
Verify that Adobe Acrobat is set as the default PDF reader.
  • If Yes, Uninstall Adobe Reader and Install the latest version of Adobe Reader by going to https://get.adobe.com/reader/.
  • If No, select Adobe as the default PDF reader.
Method 1

  1. Browse to the location of the .PDF file you are attempting to share.
  2. Right-click on the saved .PDF file.
  3. Click Open with....
  4. Under Choose the program you want to use to open this file, select Adobe Reader.
  5. Check "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file."
  6. Click OK to confirm that the .PDF file loads using Adobe Reader.
Method 2

  1. Click the Choose default apps by file type link.
  2. Scroll down to .PDF, then click Choose a default.
  3. In the Choose an app window, select Adobe Acrobat Reader.
If you cannot resolve the issue using the above solutions, you can use desktop or application sharing instead of presentation sharing to share the PDF presentation.

Additional tips:
  • Try restarting your computer.
  • Ensure you are using the latest version of the Webex app and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
