Configure music-on-hold settings from Control Hub
When a user places an incoming call on hold, the caller can listen to selected music. The music that is played is either the default music that is set at the location level or custom music that you upload, both of which can be selected from announcement repository.
To configure Music-on-Hold:
- From the customer view in https://admin.webex.com,
Control Hub section Steps Users - Go to Management > Users
- Select the user to edit.
Details of the user appear in the window.
- Click Calling tab and navigate to Music on Hold. section.
- Enable the toggle Play music when a call is placed on hold.
If the Music on Hold section is disabled, click the link Enable Music on Hold in location settings to use this feature.
Workspaces - Go to Management > Workspaces
- Select the workspace to edit.
- Click Calling tab and navigate to Music on Hold. section.
- Enable the toggle Play music when a call is placed on hold.
Virtual Lines - Go to Services > Calling > Virtual lines
- Select the virtual line to edit and click Calling.
Scroll down to Music on Hold panel.
- Enable the toggle Play music when a call is placed on hold.
- Select the Music on Hold source by either selecting:
- Play music from the location - The system plays the default music set for the location the user is assigned to.
- Play custom music - You must select and upload an audio source file in either .wav or .wma format to play when a caller is placed on hold.
- Click Select music. This opens the announcement repository with the list of announcement file.
- You can either select a pre-uploaded file or click Upload to add a new file.
- Click Select file to assign the selected custom music.
Refer to Manage Announcement Repository for more information on how to fetch or upload a custom music file from an announcement repository.
To configure bulk update of Music-on-Hold:
- From the customer view in https://admin.webex.com, go to Services > Calling > Service Settings.
- Scroll down to Manage user calling data panel and click on Manage user calling data.
- Click Download selected user data, where you can select the specific user calling service feature that you can download.
- Select the Music on Hold Source check box and click download.
- Click on Tasks to know the status of download and download the user .csv records with music-on-hold columns with the following MOH attributes. You can edit the attributes and upload the .csv file to change the custom settings for a group of users.
