Unable to Stream a Network-Based Recording After Uploading

Unable to stream a Network-Based Recording after uploading.

After uploading a recording it can only be downloaded.

Attendees only have the ability to download my Network-Based Recording.

There is no streaming recording link displayed on the recording properties page.

I don't have an option to play an ARF recording I have uploaded.

MP4 Recordings Default in Webex Meetings 40.10

In the upcoming October (40.10) update, all-new recordings in Webex Meetings will be stored in MP4 format, either in the cloud or locally as selected at the site or host level, with a video-centric experience. By standardizing the recording format, you'll have a wider choice of playback tools, better security, and a more effortless collaboration experience even after your meetings. Existing ARF and WRF recordings can still be downloaded or played at the Webex site. For more information regarding video-centric recording, go to Video-Centric Network-Based MP4 Recordings in Webex Meetings and Webex Events.

Cause:
The recordings that are uploaded to the Webex page will not have the streaming option. This is a known limitation of the Network-Based Recording functionality.

Solution:

Streaming is only available for Network-Based Recordings (NBR) after meeting completion. If an NBR is downloaded and re-uploaded by the host, streaming functionality is lost.

See the workaround below:

  1. Convert the Network-Based Recording (.ARF) file to Windows Media Video (.WMV) format, see:
  2. Upload the converted recording to your Webex site, see:
The uploaded .WMV recording will stream from your Webex site.
