Create a dial plan

To create a dial plan:

Sign in to Control Hub.

Select Services Contact Center.

From the Contact Center navigation pane, select Desktop ExperienceDial Plans.

Click Create Dial Plan.

Configure the following settings:

Description

Name

Enter a name for the dial plan . You can assign one or more dial plans to an agent when you create or edit the agent's profile, and when you configure Agent DN validation.

Description

Enter a description for the dial plan.

Regular Expression

Enter a regular expression. The regular expression comprises the valid syntax for dial numbers (DN) the agent enters in the Desktop environment. Each dial plan requires a regular expression.

For examples of the regular expressions of the default dial plans, see the following sections. Use the examples shown in these sections to formulate regular expressions for the dial plans you create.

Country Code

Enter a country code that the system automatically adds to the phone number that the agent enters. For example, enter the digit 1 for long-distance calls within the United States.

The system adds a country code only if the agent does not add it when entering a DN in the Desktop environment.

Stripped Character

Enter the characters that the system removes from the DN that an agent enters in the Desktop environment.

The system automatically removes the following characters from the number that an agent enters: left and right parentheses, space, and hyphen.

Click Create to create the dial plan.

Edit a dial plan

To edit a dial plan:

Sign in to Control Hub.

Select Services > Contact Center.

From the Contact Center navigation pane, select Desktop Experience > Dial Plans.

Click the dial planthat you want to edit.

The dial plan details open in an editable mode.

Edit the details of dial plan.

Click Save to save the edits else click Cancel to discard the changes.

Delete a dial plan

To delete a dial plan:

Ensure that the dial plan you want to delete isn't provisioned for an desktop profile or used to validate an agent's sign-in DN.

Sign in to Control Hub.

Select Services > Contact Center.

From the Contact Center navigation pane, select Desktop Experience > Dial Plans.

Click the dial plan that you want to delete.

Click the delete icon on top right of the page.

Click Delete in the confirmation pop-up message to delete the dial plan.
