Webex Calling service update for email distribution
Webex Calling sends emails for various calling-specific services, including voicemail attachments and call event notifications.
Webex Calling sends emails for calling-specific services, including voicemail attachments and call event notifications. Cisco will update the email distribution system starting May 08 2024, to accommodate the recently announced Google and Yahoo email guidelines.
From April 2024, Google will reject a percentage of noncompliant email traffic and gradually increase the rejection rate.
For example: If 75% of a sender’s traffic meets the requirements, Google starts rejecting a percentage of the remaining 25% of traffic that isn’t compliant.
With this timeline, it’s critical that Cisco update the infrastructure, as many subscribers use Google Gmail accounts.
For detailed information on this update and the timeline, see Google’s Email sender guidelines FAQ and refer to the recommendations of Yahoo in Yahoo’s Email sender guidelines. However, there’s no timeline on enforcement of Yahoo best practice recommendations.
In preparation for the Google Gmail limited rejection of noncompliant emails, Cisco will update the following:

Email headers particularly the FROM header where the sender's name will be webex_comm@webex.com and email address will be postmaster@<serverID>.bcld.webex.com

Reply-To and X-From header will have webex_comm@webex.com

Cisco will update the infrastructure to support email authentication using DKIM, monitoring outgoing email traffic, and conforming to message format standards (RFC 5322).
Partners and customers may need to update the SPAM filter to continue receiving emails from Webex Calling services. Also, end users may need to modify their email filter or rules to continue receiving emails from Webex Calling services.
If users were receiving emails from the webex.com domain successfully without any configured filters or rules, then no action is required.
To receive notifications from the Webex Calling services, configure your SPAM or email filter to allow emails from the following address:
*.bcld.webex.com
*.webex.com
If it’s not possible to allow domain with wildcards, then allow the following domains where the mail servers reside.
