Learn how to forward calls on your Cisco Wireless Phone 9821. This Help article is for Cisco Wireless Phone 9821 registered to Webex Calling.

To avoid missing calls when you're away from office or your line is busy, set the phone to redirect incoming calls to an alternative phone number.

You can use one of the following call forwarding services on the phones that are deployed on Webex Calling:

  • Forward all—Forward all incoming calls to the destination phone number.

  • Forward busy—Forward incoming calls to the destination phone number when the line is busy.

  • Forward no answer—Forward incoming calls to the destination phone number when the call isn't answered.

The icon Call forwarded icon on a line indicates that all incoming calls on this line are redirected to another number. You can also find the destination number near line name or number.

Forward calls

On a phone with a single line, you can directly set up the call forwarding on the line. However, if your phone has multiple lines, the call forwarding setting varies according to your administrator's configurations in the call control system.

If your administrator has configured the Feature Key Sync (FKS) on your lines, you can redirect incoming calls on a specific line to an alternate number. Otherwise, your call forwarding setting applies to all lines even though you turn on the call forwarding on a designated line.

1

Access the Phone 9821 Phone app icon app.

2

Press More 9821 More button and select Forward.

3

Select a call forwarding service.

  • Forward all—Forwards all incoming calls to a destination number.
  • Forward busy—Forwards an incoming call to a destination number when the line is busy.
  • Forward no answer—Forwards an incoming call to a destination number when the call isn't picked up after a specified time period or after a specified number of rings.
4

Enter the destination number, and press On to turn on the selected call forwarding service.

If you select Forward no answer, you can see one of the following fields depending on your administrator's configurations.
  • Number of rings—Specifies the number of rings for a no-answer call before call forwarding.

This field is available when your administrator enables FKS.

Valid values: 0, or a number from 2 to 20.

  • Delay for no answer—Specifies the time that a call rings before call forwarding.

This field is available when your administrator disables FKS.

Valid values: A number from 1 to 60.

5

Press More and select Save.

If you set the Forward all service, the icon Call forwarded icon displays on the selected line in the Line view. Meanwhile, the phone displays the message Forwared to <destination number> at the bottom of the screen.

What to do next

To turn off the call forwarding service, do the following:

  1. Press More 9821 More button and select Forward.
  2. Select the call forwarding service that you enabled.
  3. Press Off.
