You can park an active call and later pick up the parked call from your phone or retrieve it from another phone, such as a phone at a coworker’s desk or in a conference room.

A parked call is monitored by your call control system so you won't forget about it. If the call remains parked for too long (typically 1 minute), you will receive an incoming call periodically to remind you to pick up the parked call. Then you can answer or ignore the call on your phone. If you don't answer the incoming call within a certain length of time (typically 5 minutes), it's routed to voicemail or another destination, as set by your administrator.

Park a call

You can park an active call that you answered on your phone and then use another phone in the call control system to retrieve the call.

Before you begin

  • Your administrator has configured the call park feature on your phone.
  • Your call must be active.

1

On an active call, select More (…) > Call park.

The call is parked and a call park number is displayed. You can use the call park number to retrieve the parked call from another phone in your organization. You can park only one call on the same call park number.

If someone uses the call barge feature to join the active call, the person will be disconnected automatically when you park the call. This behavior doesn't apply to the barged conference call.
2

If you have multiple calls, you can park a call through the calls list.

For 9841, 9851, and 9861 phones On the calls list, use the Navigation Cluster to select the active call, and select More (…) > Call park.

The call is parked (with the icon The parked icon for Espresso Model A or The parked icon for Espresso Model B, C, and D. depending on your phone model) and a call park number is displayed in the calls list.
