Starting with version 22.9.8 of the Webex Calling desktop client, the Windows-based versions of the client will be distributed in MSI (Windows Installer) format instead of the EXE format. The Windows MSI files install the same way as EXE files, but provides a better installation process. The MSI files are distributed through the current Calling User Portal download links. No user changes are required.

Sign in to https://settings.webex.com, click Download Webex Calling.

You're then brought to the Calling User Portal My Apps page.

Download the app for your desktop.

Click Run or Save and then follow the instructions

During installation of the Webex Calling app, you can choose to install a Microsoft Outlook plugin to start a call from Outlook or search Outlook contacts within the app.

You must have the following for integration to be successful:

  • Microsoft Outlook 2013 (32 and 64-bit), Microsoft Outlook 2016 (32 and 64-bit), Outlook 2019, Outlook 365

  • Microsoft Windows 7 SP1, Microsoft Windows 8, Microsoft Windows 8.1, and Microsoft Windows 10

Select your region and then sign into the app to start making calls.


 

If you enter an incorrect region, you can always change it by going to Options and then Edit Login Info.

Before you begin

Make sure webexcalling.app is allowed and you have write access to your Applications folder. Otherwise, you won't be able to install the Webex Calling app

Double-click the disk image and then copy the application to your Applications folder.

Select your region and then sign into the app to start making calls.

These permissions are required for the Webex Calling app to function properly, synchronize contacts, and deliver relevant notifications to you such as call or voice message notifications.

You're brought to your Call History and you're ready to start using your app.
